The city of Seoul is colorful, vibrant and busy. The lofty office buildings of Samsung, LG, Hyundai and more make the most of the spaces in the city. Hence, it would be natural for coffee shops to be patterned among them. They offer mostly cold coffees in a plethora of flavors and they come in different sizes too. One may ask, how much coffee is too much coffee? I don’t think that matters in Seoul!

Many of the coffee shops in Seoul operate in chains which give you ample opportunities to try most of them. Trying them all may prove an impossible feat! Mammoth Express is a chain that we spotted across the city! With a small dining area this place encourages coffee to be a take away option. The long queues around any corner of the city would mean that there is a Mammoth Express somewhere near by. A menu displayed in an outerwall of the shop or in a standee is particularly convenient for people who are in the queue to quickly place order once they are inside. Mammoth coffees are mammoth as they name says and can satiate you for quite a long time!
The city provide vistas of tall offices, global shopping brands, Daisos and restaurants. As people bustle through them to offices and back home, a common sighting would be the takeaway coffees in their hand. In metros, buses and walkways, people do this act of balancing. A takeaway coffee is a must and all other things need to be balanced!

A popular place to visit in Seoul, especially during the weekends, is Hongdae, The proximity of Hongkik university makes this a place where you get to feel young and explore music, food and merchandise! As you exit Hongdae, the lanes are marked by coffee shops where you can lounge after an evening of excitement.
It is in these lanes that I found most of the coffee shops that make Seoul’s coffee scene unparalleled!

Coffee and dessert is a much adorned concept in Seoul and many cafes give their own spin to make for decadent desserts in this regard. Sponge cake, Souffles and Tiramisu are some of the go to options which will never disappoint you!
Seoul is that city where 30,000 steps a day helps you to be one with its tapestry and carry off beautiful memories. For us, travellers, the coffee shops are a blessing. It is a perfect place to take a pause and watch the city in full motion. In that pause, one can indulge in those creamy lattes and delicious desserts while you scroll through the pictures in your gadget and plan the next stop ahead.

One of our favorite coffee shops was Angel-in-Us, Lotte City, Myeongdong. With massive space to dine in and numerous options to indulge in, Angel-in-Us was exquisite. With too many coffee shops to choose from, one might still need to ponder upon where to go as every one of them has a Wow Factor. Angel-in-Us had an intricate tunnel system in the transparent ceiling which exhibited coffee beans traversing them to reach the roastery system.
So how much coffee is too much coffee? One needs to keep visiting Seoul time and again to find out. And the plan is exactly that!
